Today I've received this disc from Minsk (Belarus) and I've immediately thought of talking about it here. This happens to be one of the weirdes and most degenerate "projects" that you'll ever listen to. The world it refers to is that of my little ponies and girls cartoons that, to an untrained eye, might remind them of something sweet and cute. We could naively think we are talking about something that pertains to a certain kind of TV program, and music, that is targeted to a kids audience. Reality, though, is completely different. This guy (I don't remember his real name) comes from the universe of bronies: adult male my little pony fans. It's not just that they're adults and male. There is a huge lore, and let's not forget the customized sweet pony plushies with holes in them so you can fuck them (pictured in the booklet), the fan fictions (of course!), the terms (like "clopping", aka fapping - or saying "everypony" instead of everybody), the tons of thousands of memes, the gritty animations of cute ponies killing other ponies with a chainsaw and putting their remnants on the wall as trophies, and all kinds of rule34 drawings, conventions, merchandise, and so on. The fandom is so widespread on the internet that many parents lament that their kids can't look up their favourite TV show on the internet without stumbling upon drawings of naked little horses. The sugarcoated world of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is toyed with and destroyed in a millon little sharp glass pieces on which are reflected images of ponies doing acid, alcohol and drug abuse and malaise shaped as unlistenable musical surrogates. This music, if we can call it that, is the dirtiest and most rotten thing you'll ever listen to. The CD-r in question is composed of 34 tracks and it's a compilation of old extracts from old releases published on just one netlabel called J.W. Records and some other live recordings. You absolutely have to listen to this disc. You'll have the impression of drowning in the mud and you'll feel real dirty after the listening. I hope I'll have more news of this band in the future. For now I'll leave you the link to listen to these tracks of extreme lo-fi that will make you look at your loved my little ponies in a completely new way. Anguish and retching guaranteed for all! Long live Belarus!
